Overview

Rugby has always been a big part of ACS culture. Experiencing values such as solidarity, integrity, passion, discipline and respect in a team setting allows them to develop their character. The challenging nature of the game builds their resilience and prepares them for future challenges.

The Rugby CCA is open to pupils who are keen to learn the game and build camaraderie amongst their peers. Training is twice a week for training squad members and once a week for non-competitive ruggers.

Members who are ready will be selected for the training squad and be equipped with the necessary game knowledge and skills. They may have opportunities to represent the school in various platforms such as friendly games and National School Games.

Attire / Training Kit (once accepted as a member)	• ACS(J) Rugby shirt or CCA shirt or PE attire. • PE shorts or Rugby shorts. • 1 litre bottle • Sunblock. • Mouth guard (compulsory for all Development and Training squad members). • Rugby boots with rubber studs (compulsory for all Development and Training squad members). • Inhaler (for boys with asthma).
Note 1	• If a pupil is absent, an email/ letter of excuse or a medical certificate is required. • There will be no make-up or refund if a pupil is absent.
Note 2	Selection for Development, Training Squad and School Team • P3 to P5 members of the CCA may be invited based on their Attitude, Commitment and Skill level to join the Development Squad or Training Squad. Training Squad members who demonstrate school values and have good and consistent performance will be selected into the School Team. All the members who are progressing to the next tier will receive an official invitation through Parents Gateway upon confirmation by the Rugby Teachers.
